The Chinese Lara Croft

chinalaracrofttombraider.jpg
The seventh installment of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider video game series, entitled Legend is going to be released in simplified Chinese soon. In preparation, Sina and the company releasing the game decided to look for the Chinese Lara Croft. Not only was there a cash prize (and the chance to have sex with a powerful man) but the winners would also be featured in a "live action" photo extra that would come with official versions of the game.

There was something that caught our eye about this article, and it wasn't just the push-up bras. The activity itself is part of a monthly feature on Sina.com called, of all things, "Play Girl" -- and you can't imagine, as a loyal reader of that other Playgirl, how much confusion this caused at first -- hot girls with fulsome breasts? An outrage.

Although we don't know much about Lara Croft, we did watch the movie starring the bustier half of Brangelina, and that plus the strange title of this feature have convinced us that there's a cross-cultural twilight zone in which some of the young generation in China exists.

Late night, dirty Shanghaiist.

I like it! Will this be a regular feature at all?
